“Manual says "When the dash cam detect motion while parked it will immediately store the previous 10 seconds prior to activation of motion detection start recording video for the next 10 seconds" How does it record 10 seconds prior? Is it always recording”

Yes, its always recording. When it detects something it takes the 10 seconds prior and 10 seconds after and saves it to a separate folder so it doesn't get overwritten by the continuous recording.

Yes, the dash cam is always actively recording but to conserve power and space on the MicroSD card, the dash cam will not save footage in Parking Surveillance Mode unless it senses motion or impact. Once a trigger is detected, the dash cam is able to retrieve the 10 second footage previously and saves the footage along with the 10 seconds after onto the "Parking_REC" folder on the MiroSD card.
