It starts automatically when power is applied.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It records when triggered by an event that is produced by the movement of your car. The sensitivity setting is adjustable by PC, but none of the settings I have selected via PC seem to transfer to the unit including the date and time. Outside of movement, you can push the record button whenever you want and it will record 1 minute of video at that point.

The manual recording feature allows users to safely record any event on the road they wish to capture. Manual recording mode is similar to that of a video camera and with a simple press of a button, the footage will be saved in a separate folder on the MicroSD card.
