• It only beeps if you select find my tile. Volume is what it is.

• I think if you sign up for the premium service, you can set a range for the tile to be in.

• Currently, no. Rumors on some Apple forums for iOS (and not sure about Android) that that type of functionality might be coming with the next major release (e.g., iOS 13.x Fall 2019) in terms of walking away and alerting you. The adjustable distance for alerts might be related, but nothing confirmed. Just rumors.
