The warranty is now included in your annual or life time service subscription. See below from TIVO website: The service plan includes, at no additional charge, an enhanced limited warranty (known as "Continual Care") for the full, uninterrupted duration of your annual or monthly TiVo service subscription. With Continual Care, and for a cost of $49.00 (plus shipping and any applicable taxes) after ninety (90) days from your purchase date, you can exchange a defective or inoperative TiVo BOLT or TiVo DVR for a repaired, renewed or comparable product (at TiVo's discretion). Please try again later.This is conjecture, but probably because Best Buy isn't an authorized support outlet for the TiVo, Best Buy doesn't make any real profit on the units, and TiVo corporate is stingy and makes bad business decisions despite having an excellent product.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.TiVo offers a protection plan as long as you are paying for the service. It costs all damage (excluding accidental) for a $50 deductible. My guess is that is why Geeksquad doesn't offer an extended warrant.
