A:AnswerIt will work without paying the fee but you won’t have full functionality of all the features. I think you can pay $6.99 a month, $69 a year or a onetime fee of $249 that’s good for the life of the unit. For me it didn’t start working correctly until about 24 hours after the fee was processed.
A:AnswerI have a TiVo Bolt and it may be like some others. I can record programs without a subscription. But if I want the program guide then I have to pay for it.
A:AnswerNo it does not record streaming channels whether from other sources of the built in apps. It will show you in your recordings list what streaming episodes are available to watch from the apps built into the Tivo unit. However you will have to be signed into these apps and some episodes may cost you.
A:AnswerSimple answer is no. The TiVo bolt OTA is for over the air programming only. You cannot record any cable, satellite or streaming programs with it. TiVo does make different models that work with cable and satellite however, the Bolt OTA will not. Go to the TiVo website and research the different models.
A:AnswerTiVo builds other products that aren't OTA (Over the Air Antenna) set top boxes with recording capabilities. Just how unintelligent are American's today about Television delivery and it's costs? Using Broadcast TV for free is the best reason to get rid of the cost of Satellite TV & Cable TV Bills. My first TiVo was very adaptive to Cable delivery by adding a Cable Module to the back of unit but why? Cable Companies sell you everything you need to subscribe to their wired channels and use their services. Streaming or IP casting of TV is different from Cable TV, just like Satellite and Broadcast TV the other 2 systems of delivery. I've found for over a decade now that a combination of Free Broadcast TV or OTA with a TiVo Box is the best way to get today's best and highest quality Television experience for the lowest costs. The TiVo provides access to most IP Streams, a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) and HDTV Broadcasts access for FREE without paying more just to get HDTV (High Definition Television). We had both Cable & Direct TV for years but they provide to many channels, low definition service and wanted $400 to $600 just give us the HDTV that was out there in the Air for free. We found we were only watching the Network and Independent Local TV Station Channels anyway. So why pay for so much more than you can possibly watch even with the higher cost for HDTV? So after more than a month of constant hassles to end our Direct TV Services we finally "cut" the cord and have been saving ever since. Look at Tivo full line of products to get what kind of TV Services you want in your home including watching your shows in every room with a TV!
A:AnswerIf you lose your internet connection you can still watch recorded shows and live TV. All that happens without an internet connection is that your program guide will not get updated everyday.
A:AnswerWhen you unplug and move the unit it is like doing a hard drive re-boot. Once you plug it back in it re-loads the guide for that location and should capture those local channels. I have not done it so, just to be sure, contact Tivo support at TiVo.com and check with their help people.
A:AnswerTivo Bolt OTA is for antenna setups only while the Tivo Bolt Vox DVR will work with cable and antenna. Please be aware there are subscription fees for both. I have the Tivo Bolt OTA and paid a one time subscription fee of $250 and am happy with the product/service and glad I cut the cord.
A:AnswerYou do not NEED a subscription but it doesn’t work very well without one, and though I dislike paying a monthly fee the overall experience is worth it. It connects directly to your TV by HDMI cable, and yes it does have an internal hard drive. Think of it as a DVR cable box that’s hooked to an antenna instead of cable TV.
A:AnswerYour answer is yes!! The Disney channel can easily be access through you tube app and possibly through the you tube kids app even tho I've never entered the kids app as an senior adult. I've also seen the Disney channel line up accessed on the TiVo search mode* Phil
