• Same exact situation....my old DVR died and called the Tivo and agent transferred the lifetime subscription to another DVR box. This was few years ago. Give it a try. Good luck!

• No...I recently upgraded from an older Tivo to the Edge and was unable to transfer the lietime plan.

• Per box only. I had the same problem and just ended up purchasing new one because the noise was so annoying.
