Charter techs may tell you that they only support two tuners because that is what they offer. But that is not true. I have Charter cable and I am able use all four tuners at one time.

Please try again later.If you used a mini on a device that is only using 2 tuners, then whenever you are using the mini to watch live tv, one of the 2 tuners would be in use for the mini. If you had 2 shows setup to record, it most likely would lock the tuner to the program to record (but you should be able to view already recorded shows on the mini while the tuners are in use).

I also bought a TiVo Mini for my second TV because I wanted whole-house DVR and Charter equipment doesn't do what I wanted. My system is working great and have had no problems with the Bolt or Mini other than clarifying the proper Charter Cable Card for the Bolt (MA12 or above - mine is an MA14).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's the same as on your box--the mini would utilize one tuner only when you are watching. Thus, it would depend on what you are doing with the other tuner while someone else is using the mini. I don't believe it would affect the tuner if you were watching a recorded show, but not positive. Tivo has great customer service.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Charter shouldn't be able to only let you access 2 tuners...you need a cable card. If you can't access all 4 you should contact charter. Each tuner is used when you are recording or watching so if you are watching live tv on a mini you could only record one show or watch one show on the bolt.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the mini supports all four tuners on my Charter so you may need to get a new cable card, but if you can only do tuners, you will only have one tuner for the regular TiVo and one for the mini because it "borrows" a tuner from the main TiVo.
