its better than time warners box
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it is superior in every way from the boxes that you would rent from your provider. The only downside I can see with this is that you do not get on demand. :(
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My OTA antenna TV looks crystal clear when run through the TIVO. You attach your antenna (Highly recommend the Winegard Amplified Indoor Antenna available at Costco) to the TIVO rather than to your TV. I get fantastic reception in South Lake Tahoe from the Reno transmitters 40 miles away. Most channels come in beautifully 100% of the time with only a couple exceptions. The picture quality and ease of use of my TIVO blow Comcast away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as you have a clear signal coming into the box, you should be very happy with the picture coming out of it. I have an HD roof antenna that I purchased from Home Depot for $140 at the same time I bought my TiVo boxes. I have been VERY happy with the picture and the signal strength from Chicago. Keep in mind, TiVo does charge a $16 monthly fee for it's service so you will not escape monthly fees by switching to TiVo.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the quality is the same as your cable that you use to connect the device to the tv. If both boxes use HDMI then both output using the HDMI. The difference comes from the network themselves whether they are broadcasting in 480p, 720p, 1080i, or 1080p that will depend on the network your watching (example abc, espn, hbo, showtime, amc ... etc) as they control what video output is broadcasted per their channel and/or per whats being broadcasted at that time. Another difference is your TV in what type of output it can take. Just cause you have an HDMI cable and the device such as tivo outputs in 1080p doesnt mean your tv does. If your TV only goes up to 720p then that's the max you'll get out of it no matter what you do or which box you have it's all or nothing type of scenario.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I find the overall picture and sound quality from my Tivo to be equal to or better than that which we used to receive from our TWC DVR.
