I have two Tivo Roamio's, all i use is my HD antenae, I have no problems recording my local shows. I also record programs while using wi-fi. It really is very simple. Just wanted to pass that along! The best thing I have ever used for saving my favorites shows.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, our Tivo is being used with a mobile WiFi hot spot from Sprint. The hot spot also serves a smart TV in another room, along with a smart phone and a tablet. No connection issues.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately this device only has a jack for ethernet cable. It also has built in wifi. But there is no phone jack for dial up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well, just a question. If Dad is okay with dial-up, why does he want or need a DVR? But, I might think the menu would work. Not sure. The recordings are made off the broadcast TV signal. That would be separate from your internet. TiVo makes a Roamio model that goes for $50 bucks. Cheap enough, don't you think?
