• No, the Tivo is a separate component and works independently of the TV. Although the OTA antenna must go into the Tivo first.

• No, the TV does not need to be on. The Roamio OTA "sees" the TV broadcasts over the antenna directly. It is positioned between the antenna and the TV.

• The TV doesn't have to be on for the DVR to record.

• No, but the box needs to be in standby mode, and not unplugged. You can put the box in standby mode under settings, then turn off your tv after it goes to sleep. It will still record.
