• A:Answer I use it EXACTLY like I used my DVR with my cable subscription. I use my wirelessly and can even use my phone as a remote control (but NOT for TV controls, just for TIVO controls). Totally worth it in my opinion. I get free over the airwaves TV thru my antenna. BIG savings.

• A:Answer DirectV uses their own version of TIVO with a similar experience. This Roamio unit is either OTA HD broadcast or CABLE recorder but not both at the same time.

Q: QuestionI just cut the cord!!! I hooked up Amazon Fire streaming to my TV with HDTV Antenna. I have many local channels, Netflix, hula, etc. Can I hook this up to my TV to use as a DVR only to record shows since I don't need to use it as a streaming devise?

• A:Answer YES you can but there is a monthly fee. I have ROKU, Chromecast, Fire TV but TIVO is the only one I use all the time.

• A:Answer NO. But there is a better solution. If you know how, transfer your DVR files to a PC or NAS and name the File ie MY OLD DVR. Share that folder on the network and TIVO will find it and let you watch it. BTW , Tivo will let you copy your shows to an external drive or your tablet so you can watch them on vacation.

• A:Answer Simply push the Tivo button at the top of your remote. The highlighted option is already on "my shows". Just push select.

• A:Answer Based on the product specs on BestBuy.com, this TiVo does come with a one year manufacturer warranty for parts and 90 days for labor. You also have the option to purchase a 2 year and 4 year Geek Squad Protection plan. Thanks!

• A:Answer Use an amplified antenna if your any distance from the TV stations. I use an RCA ANT702F Amplified Indoor/Outdoor Omni-Directional HDTV Antenna that I paid $40 dollars for at Wal-Mart.
