No. The buttons work but they are a little hard to see.

All of the primary functions (cooling, fan, and heat) can be used without a phone, but adjustments can only be made in 30, 60, and 100% increments, and affect all 3 zones simultaneously. The phone app allows you to adjust the strength in 1% increments, as well as control the two side cooling/heating zones independently from the rear zone. You can also use the "Auto" mode, set a power off timer, and save favorite settings with the phone app.
