• The springs in the battery compartment connect to the negative end of the battery (the positive side has the "nub"). The positive of one battery will touch the negative end of the other end of a pair. iIf you look in the battery compartment very closely (you may have to use a flashlight), there is a small raised diagram to show the battery layout. Be sure to insert the batteries over the strap and leave some of the strap sticking out; pull on the end of strap to remove the batteries.
