Your computer should automatically detect the jump drive when it's plugged in unless the drive is bad, the usb port you plugged into is bad or there is no usb drivers loaded on your pc. try plugging in another flash drive that you know works into the same usb port and see what happens. If it works, you know the drivers are loaded and the usb port is good..You can always try another usb port on the PC as well..
