A:Answer I don't know about Dish remote but my TV set was programmed by the BestBuy Technician who delivered it and I didn't want to use the vice-activated remote
(Alexa) so, he programmed it as follows: To turn on the set, I use the "old" (Toshiba TV) remote; on the new remote I click "home" and select "Cable"; I can then select the Channel I want to watch on the same "old" remote. To turn on sound, I click AUX and POWER on the "old" remote and adjust the volume using the VOL key on the "old" remote. I bought a 32 inch VIZIO sound bar and get great sound through that. My only problem is that the sound and the lips of the speakers on the screen are out of sync a bit and I don't know why that is but it is somewhat disconcerting.
