I had this same issue and realized when using a sound bar you have to go into the TV settings and select the sound bar. The Amazon system will work only with the Amazon system, such as using the sound bar with an Amazon product like the Fire TV, but OTA, the TV has to be set to send all audio signals to the Bar.
