• If your laptop has a SATA HDD it will work. It will not if its standard IDE. In most cases installation is easy and takes just a few minutes.

• I think you need to have SATA in your laptop.

• This Solid State Drive has a SATA interface. Typically, an IDE interface is the same as a PATA which would mean that this SSD is not compatible with your current laptop. Please post another question and state which Toshiba laptop model you currently use and I can give you an answer.
