Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The names are being simplified to make it easier for people who don't work with wireless networks for a living. Wi-Fi 6, or 802.11ax is the newest version of the 802.11 standard for wireless network transmissions. The new version, 802.11ax, is the 6th version of 802.11, so they're calling it Wi-Fi 6. The previous couple of generations will also refer to the more simplified naming convention. For instance, the existing standard, 802.11ac? That's called Wi-Fi 5 now. If you look under the specifications for this router, it calls out AC, N, AX. The AX is basically Best Buy lingo for 802.11ax.
