“My ISP, CCI, supplies one unit which is a Zyxel model VMG4927. CCI told me I have no modem that the Zyxel is only a router. CCI advised me that I have direct internet via fiber optic and need no modem. Anyone else? Do I just connect to Deco directly?”

If you current internet working with Zyxel model VMG4927 thats means you can connect new Deco with Zyxel model VMG4927. For example; I connected my xfinity modem ethernet port with anyone deco ethernet port. Its very simple to test; just connect your Zyxel model VMG4927 ethernet port to any one of your deco ethernet port. Logically we need modem; I have no technical knowledge about Zyxel model VMG4927 but its worth to give a try.
