• yes works with comcast xfinity and does not act like a modem. you need an active plan with your ISP and a modem in order to use these routers.

• Yes it will work with Xfinity service. You will still need a modem for your service. From the modem you can connect your mesh network. This product is providing a “stronger” connection for your wireless devices in your home vs a single router that might have a diminished signal as you get further from it.
