“Deco M4 spec’s say “Separate devices by band for better traffic management”. Somewhere I read that it’s best to use 5g for streaming and gaming and leave 2.4 for other use. It doesn’t appear possible to select by device with the M4. Are spec’s incorrect?”

Hi! The Deco M4 utilizes intelligent algorithms and band steering to help ensure optimal connectivity to Deco nodes and Wi-Fi bands. That said, a large role is still played by the Wi-Fi client devices (phones, laptops, etc.) in prioritizing one band over the other. Some devices will have Wi-Fi options/settings that allow you to configure a priority or preference for 5GHz or 2.4GHz.
