CALL TRACFONE CS 1-800-867-7183? They can tell you if your phone can be converted and new number assigned. Yes, she can text, but internet is extremely slow and expensive since it takes data minutes quickly. (A cheap tablet is a better option for internet, especially with wifi available.) Tracfone cs can answer the wifi use questions, but ask about the cost of using it with wifi. If granddaughter expects to use cell ph often, a family plan with verizon or another carrier may be cheaper. My tracfone is primarily for emergency, because I have landline and internet.
