• You will need to activate it first. It is possible to have some problems with this, so you can not be sure that you can use it immediately. You are SUPPOSED to be able to use it immediately after activation, but getting it activated does not always happen quickly.

• No. You have to have a credit card with cvv# so you can activate phone. Usually a 233(add)# that you can choose your plan since you lose this amount if it doesn't work choose the $15 without gigibiyes & then add 2g(tracphome) rolls over unused, no other phones do that that I know of..
