You can buy a basic phone card for $19.99, that will give you 180 minutes because the basic cards are tripled on this phone, and it gives you 3 months of service. All your unused minutes never expire as long as you buy another basic card before the 90 days expire. If you use your wi-fi when you want to access the internet and only use the phone for calls and texting, it will cost you roughly $7 a month.

It comes with 400 minutes officially but they give you 3X that many - 1200 minutes for the $99 price. The service will stay on for the year - even if you use the minutes but until you top up minutes you won't be able to make a call... If you have minutes remaining they roll over the next year, but if you let the year expire you lose the minutes. When you TOP UP each year -BE SURE TO MAKE NOTE of how many minutes you have remaining. VERIZON bought TRACFONE and ever since - they 'lose' your old minutes... And you have to call them to get them back. They DO give the minutes back if you call but you need to keep track of what you had before you renew for the year. Next year I need to call and upload minutes BEFORE I pay to upload them.

If you already paying $20 per month for a service for that phone, you don't need to pay for another card for it to work because the $20 payment that you have is already the service for that phone. There is a limit for you to pay but it will depend on how many months you had with your contract for that phone. Thank you.
