• It is fully wireless via transmitter/charging stand. It will connect to the PS3 via bluetooth, not the PS4. There is a USB connection that goes from the PS4 to the charging stand/transmitter that powers the transmitter and makes it wireless, kinda like the USB dongle for the Playstation Gold Headset.

• it is wireless signal picked up by there charging station that plugs into the ps4 and is Bluetooth capable to phones and ipad and such

• It does not require the cord. I use mine without any wires. The headset communicates with the charging base. The base connects to the PS4 with USB and Optical cables (Both included). I also have the base connected to my PC via another USB cable so I can update the firmware when needed, but that connection is not required to use it.

• Its fully wireless from bluetooth, and theres no 2.5mm cord for the ps4 controller anyways. The controller takes standard 3.5mm headphones. The Elite 800s plug into the audio optical port at the back of your ps4 like any real surround sound headset, just make sure you put your settings to DTS and not Dolby.

• No, this is completely wireless to the PS4, as far as the headset is concerned. The base uses the PS4 USB for power, and an Optical cable(included)
