QuestionIs one set of 250 enough to cover an average 7ft Christmas tree?

- Answer I had only one 250 light set and it looked really cool and my tree was 7 foot but two of these strands or a line with 600 lights would be even more impressive. The lights are very bright so adding a second set would make the tree even more memorizing but at 100 bucks on average or 350 for a 600 strand that is pretty expensive... If you a pro who sets these up professionally then who cares what it costs, the lighting effect would get you noticed..

QuestionIs this plug in located in the middle of this set? Like the 600 set? Instead of at just one end of the lights?

- Answer That is a unique way of thinking of it, but you are correct: From the plug, there are two separate strands of lights. It is not one long continuous strand. There is a long lead from the plug to the start of the lights. I have a 10’ tree and have zero issues getting the lights to the top of the tree.

QuestionI was looking for lights to put on our outdoor gazebo. I am looking for lights that you can make red for Valentine’s Day, or green for St Patrick’s day and keep up year round. Do these do that?

- Answer Yes. That is exactly what these lights do...and much more. I highly recommend you also purchase the Music Dongle. It allows syncing to music via its Bluetooth/WiFi microphone. Lots of fun!

QuestionWill these lights be able to turn completely white if we wanted?

- Answer Rgb lights use a combination of the 3 colors to produce a whitish color. Twinkly has done a fantastic job of making it very close to white... However.. if you buy the 210 count curtain lights... They are RGBW. With a dedicated white diode for brilliance. In my opinion.. both types look fantastic. And the creativity allowed with this product is almost endless once you understand how they work. Buy a few sets and by the time you have set them up.. you will have a pretty good understanding. Tip.. the more lights you have close together... once mapped... the better your effects will be. Tip 2. Map your lights using your phones camera from multiple angles . (Choose 3d mapping) once at least 95% of the lights have turned green... that strand is complete... do the same with each strand.. once complete.. you can sync them by creating a group.. once you have your new group... Map the new group.. it will allow for more complex effects and greatly increase the accuracy .. so you can tell whats going on. Ex. Make an American flag effect ( all effects are free downloads. Or make your own and loop them.

- Answer Multiple Twinkly light strings can be synchronized in groups, up to 4000 LED lights and up to 10 strings, under a strong Wi-Fi connection. No physical connection is needed, the whole process is managed by mapping the lights on the Twinkly app through your Wi-Fi network. Twinkly lights cannot be modified or cut.

- Answer Each light most certainly does not have its own IP address on your network (but maybe on some intranet only accessible to twinkly, if that uses the IP stack). There is only one IP address per Twinkly device adapter. And no, you will not have access to the lights directly from your PC. At least not without using the Twinkly API directly (or until they release a PC app).

QuestionHow bright are these outside on the roof line as compared to a normal string of lights? The lights also appear to be uni-directional like the light will only be brightest straight out from the bulb, is that true or are they multi-directional?

- Answer Thank you for your interest! Below are the Lumen measurements for the 600 leds RGB strings: white:188lm, power 23.3W red:40lm, power 27.8W green: 125lm, power 26.9W blue:21lm, power 26.6W And they are uni-directional. Hope this helps!

- Answer Hi Ahmad! STP means Standard and it refers to RGB strings, on the other hand SPP means Special ant it refers to the RGBW strings. You can also find GOP, that refers to the AWW (Gold) edition of our strings. If you have other questions or curiosity don't hesitate to ask us! Chiara

This product is IP44 which means that is certified and suitable for outdoor use The temperature range is from -15 °C to 40 °C or 14°F to 104°F Moreover, I'm glad to give you some pieces of advice to protect both the plug and the controller so that you can enjoy it for a long, long time: Consider placing the plug and the controller in a proof location, and to avoid plunges into the water for a long time. if you don't have any safe place near the string, consider to buy a waterproof box for plugs, which stores both the controller and the plug itself. For the other question, Yes there is a an effect with the American flag in the Twinkly App! Thanks to the mapping feature, You can place your lights as you prefer, there is not a rule! you will be able to create a precise layout of your LEDs and apply the effect with the maximum impact! The only suggestion is more LEDs you have richer the effect will be! Hope this is helpful!

- Answer I have a 14-foot tree with two sets of 600 (each set of 600 consists of two separate strands of 300 each). Each set plugged into a separate outlet at the bottom of the tree, with the lights placed primarily on one side of the tree. The sets are "virtually" linked together - you actually "take a video" of the tree and the app senses where each light is on the tree and programs each light individually that way, interpolating any lights that are not visible or captured in the video.

- Answer Each light string has its own Generation II Controller, all the light strings on one tree can be controlled as one display with the use of the Twinkly App. The Twinkly App will map each of the LED lights and group the strings together to act as one for creating designs and effects.

- Answer The individual bulbs can not be replaced. Having a bulb or two out does not interrupt the effects of the string. Each bulb or lamp acts as its own IP address connecting individually with the Twinkly App.

- Answer You need to try to "map" your lights in the app. That's about the only way you can achieve the desired effect. Also, it's important to figure out which bundle of the 600, so 300 bundle, is wired to be the top set (put on second). You can do this by putting the lights on the snow setting in the app. The bundle of 300 that lights up first is the upper set, and as the snow "falls" the light transitions to the lower set. I don't map my outdoor trees because it's a pain, so I just make sure that I get the top and bottom figured out before stringing the lights on the tree. I start with the "lower" set of 300 and the string the "upper" set of 300.

QuestionDo the 2 strings run in series or in parallel? Do both strings have to attach directly to the power source or does one string attach to the end of the other string making it one really long string. Looks like the 600/250 cant run as 1 long string.

- Answer Both the 400 and 600 LED strings are made up of 2 x 200 and 2 x 300 LEDs respectively. The lengths start at the control unit, so are effectively in parallel. They are not one long string starting from the controller. If you want them to appear as a single long string, the controller will be at the mid point, with each length running in opposite directions. Please note that the Twinkly app is able to map the lights (using your phone or tablet camera), regardless of the placement and direction of the lengths. Once you've mapped the lights, the Twinkly app will automatically create a set of different patterns for the lights. The way the mapping software works never fails to amaze me!

QuestionDo these lights get hot to the touch? I am thinking about stringing these up on my ceiling underneath Polyester fiber fill to look like light-up clouds, but I'm worried about them heating up too much and becoming a fire hazard with the poly fill.

- Answer No. Mine are room temperature to the touch after running for several hours. The plug and controller do get warm to the touch.
