If your receiver has connectors as white and red (and maybe yellow too), the whited and red are your audio connectors, and NO it is not Mono, it is Stereo. The digital audio connector you see on the HDTV is to connect the digital audio output to the digital audio input of most modern audio amplifiers/receivers that use that connector because 1) is digital audio signal with Surround Sound, and all the newest audio specs, 2) with a single cable goes everything. So, simply connect the White and Red audio outputs on the HDTV to your receiver White and Red connectors and you're set, those RCA connectors are Analog Stereo Audio, not Mono but not digital either, just analog.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That jack does output stereo sound, not just mono. You might need an adapter unless your device also has the 3.5 mm input.
