• You have to add the application, as you do with most of the applications/channels on roku. From the home screen go to Search and type in You Tube. Highlight it and use the right arrow key until you get to "install channel".

• Mine came with YouTube and I've watched several YouTube videos on my tv. I would assume you can go on the Roku store and download YouTube, it's free. You will need to explore the Roku store, because I now have tons of free channels. I don't understand why you would think most of the channels are useless.
