- Answer I have 2, one in each vehicle... One is mounted on my rear plate for the last 2 winter months in Reno NV, so far is still working like the day i bought it.. Other one is mounted in side rear doors of a mini van, both still working like brand new.. so yes from my experience mounted outside is ok... Am pretty sure even the description of the dash cam says you can, and mine for 2 months in winter weather still working great.. yes mounted outside is good..

- Answer Check 2 things 1. Engine idle "smoothness" ie: Speed, timing, fuel mixture, fuel pressure, 2. Next check the rubber "Wraps" that anchor the camera to the rear view mirror. 3. Rd noise / Sound level in the car. I only say that because when I crank mine my camera vibrates all over. Well good luck. Post your results please.

QuestionI have a 2015 Chrysler 200 with a review mirror that is bulky and kind of thick so if it doesn't fit I really, really don't want to pay a restocking fee that is half the cost of the product. Is there a compatible vehicle list?

The red wire is connected to the ACC battery, the yellow wire to the car battery and the black wire to the iron. After installing the hard-wire kit, you can turn on the Time-Lapse Mode. With the mode on, the device will enter the mode in 1 minute after the engine is off, and it will keep recording with the screen off. And the parking mode won't be triggered. If you only turn on the parking mode(not turning on the time-lapse mode at the same time), the device will be off in a minute after the engine is off. - Answer It fits 2012 passat and it has flexible straps with multi holes for various length fits many situations I think it should fit 2012 rogue if it has standard rear view mirror.

QuestionI have a conversion van. The rear windows are small and sometimes the curtains closed. Being a back-up camera is handy, But can the lines on the screen be turned off and the camera connected so that this functions as a rearview camera?

- Answer On mine if i switch off the "recording" feature and tap the camera view to "rear" it gives me a great 150 degree view of the road behind me. Granted im just "monitoring" but "recording" is just a tap away. Good luck and post your results. Kevin

- Answer The "red" wire goes to your reverse lights. Once spliced into your back up and or reverse lights this system acts as activation for your reverse camera.

- Answer Video must be reviewed on-device or by removing the SD card and played back on a PC. There is no antenna in this device to support external communications. In theory, you could purchase a WIFI SD card, but they all seem to be full size cards and wouldn't fit in this device.

QuestionI have a very hard time trying to back up my small trailer without jack knifing, Very frustrating. Will this device act as a guide to back in correctly? Does it have straight lines on the rear image to guide me?

- Answer This unit has optional reverse lines that can be enabled and calibrated to 3 levels (low, medium, high), though I didn't quite work out what those settings did. We established where the lines were by measuring to a known device that was on one of the lines in the picture to set our own reference distance. Up to you if you think this would help with your trailer work since the view from the camera would be obscured by the trailer in most installations.
