But, when you purchase the jetpack/hotspot it is assigned a cellular number of its own. As long as you get cellular reception you will be able to use it. Battery life is great on this jetpack.
Verizon offers "roaming" to international countries at a very reasonable price.
I used in Italy recently and it worked great.
Also, most cell phones now have the option to work as "hotspots" and support multiple devices. This may be an option for you,but make sure you have a charger with you as this option will drain battery quicker.
