• Yes, I believe so. With the prepaid, it automatically fills each month. The prepaid. With a contract it is hard to back out of the contract. You can, initially arrange all with Verizon prepaid.

• No you do not need a contract. These phones are pre owned but wiped clean and you can do prepaid plan with it thru Verizon. We pay $40 a month for so many GB and unlimited Verizon to Verizon! Good luck!
