Connect the SSD to the Visiontec cable then Visiontec USB to tower (with SSD connected). Boot to Visiontec CD (previously inserted in CD tray). (For Dell turn on tower and quickly repeatedly press F12 untill boot choice menu menu appears then select CD. Varies with tower manufacturer). When CD boots Visiontec splash screen appears accept terms and conditions. Software will search for connected DRIVES (usually 1-internal tower hard drive and 2-Acronis wire connected SSD). BE CAREFUL SELECTING SOURCE (THE DATA YOU WANT TO KEEP) (MOUSE CLICK) IN THIS CASE 1-INTERNAL HARD DRIVE THEN SELECT DESTINATION(THE DRIVE YOU WANT TO COPY DATA TO!) (REPLY USING MOUSE CLICK IN THIS CASE 2- ACRONIS WIRE CONNECTED SSD Select Start/Clone/Copy then select Start/Clone/Copy again (it gives you chance to avoid error in moving data in wrong direction) It takes 30 - 60 minutes or even longer depending on hard drive size/speed, data amount, SSD speed, etc. Click to turn off the software. Press the button to open the CD player and remove the CD. Then power off the tower. Then remove hard drive and install SSD.

Also, once you clone the Windows 7 machine, make sure you go back into Windows 7 and follow the steps for enabling “Trim”. Otherwise Windows 7 will shorten the life of your new SSD drive. If this was a fresh install of Windows 7, it would be different, but since it’s a clone of the old hard drive, then you will have to enable “Trim” after you login to Windows on the SSD. Windows 10 automatically enables trim once it recognizes an SSD drive is installed so it does not need anything to be done after cloning. Hope this helps!
