It does all that for me. I have it connected to a TCL TV using an HDMI cable. The TV has to have an HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) connection. Then I turned off the TV speakers so it just uses the Soundbar for sound. The soundbar lets you program it to use your TV remote to operate it. With this setup the soundbar turns on and off with the TV and the TV remote changes the volume and mutes it. I never use the Soundbar remote. It just sits in a drawer. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your tv supports hdmi-arc then yes it will. You can use one remote to do it all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, but it may be TV dependent. My set allows for auto detect of the ARC HDMI cable connection and the Consumer Electronics Control (CEC), so that control with one remote can control both TV sound and the sound bar.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you use HDMI ARC and have a newer VIZIO TV it will auto detect the system and turn off the TV speakers automatically. If it doesn't do that the speakers can be turned off manually and the sound bar will still provide audio. With the optical cable you can use the included remote or a VIZIO TV remote and have it turn on by adjusting the volume.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it can be set up so you don't need 2 remotes. Hook the sound bar up to the HDMI ACR port on the TV. (It will be labeled HDMI # ACR. My sets use HDMI 2 but yours could be different.) Use the HDMI port the instructions tell you to use on the sound bar. Your TV Menu may have a turn speakers off setting in the Audio category. If not, just use the TV remote to turn them down all the way. Then turn on the sound bar and the TV and the sound bar should be auto detected by the TV. Program the sound bar as the Aux device on your remote and everything should work fine. Be sure and read the instructions for the remote on how to set it up to control the sound bar volume instead of the TV sound volume. If you're using a DVR with its own remote the instructions will tell you how to do this. If the TV remote is your main remote control, then it will have instructions on how to set it up to control Aux devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, if your TV supports HDMI-CEC. Otherwise you must use separate remote.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Separately, but shuts off after 15 minutes of inactive use.
