Sound quality was definitely a step up from my Insignia TV. Easy to set up. Just plug in and play. Also having IR reprogramming meant that I can just use the regular TV remote to turn on and adjust the volume for the Sound Bar. Cons: Even when not on, the top of the sound bar is warm to the touch. I don't really know why it would always be warm. I wonder if this would have long term consequences.

The Vizio sb3830 is perfect for those who want enhanced sound over the TV speakers with clear dialogue. This soundbar delivers a good balanced experience when watching movies or playing music. It will not substitute a home theater system or a good audio system but it does provide quality sound for the price. I had a surround system that was over the top and although it sounded great it was just to overpowering. 10 minutes into a movie I would either lower it or shut it off. This soundbar gives just enough sound enhancement to make it a pleasant experience. The remote could use some backlight so it can be seen in a dark room. Adding a wired subwoofer would be a plus for anyone contemplating it but it’s not a must. Good job Vizio on making quality products affordable.

My father in-law needed a sound bar to hear the TV better. I did some research and saw this one got some good reviews so I gave it a try. So far, he loves it. Not difficult to hook up and the sound is very good. If you're looking for a reasonably priced, solid sound bar, look no further.

Since I can't modify previous reviews, here is a new one... I had spent weeks researching an affordable soundbar since I couldn't afford a receiver with hdmi 2.2 to go with my definitive technology speakers. I had purchased a 2.0 vizio that was pretty good. I liked the sound from it, it had a strong, power but clear sound, despite lacking in bass. But for $25 extra I couldn't pass up an extra channel, HDMI ARC and being able to cast from google apps. I bought despite other users complaints about the setup being terrible. I have never had problems setting the soundbar up and I have had to do it twice since I had to factory reset it yesterday. The setup up isn't as bad as the other reviewers make it out to be. It doesn't always work but after a few tries it connects to the sound bar. The sound itself from the soundbar is great and for $100 I am very happy and sounds even better with my powered subwoofer. Where this soundbar falls short is with Vizio's smart casting. There smart casting feature is terrible. Its so bad that I want to take it back, despite the sound bar itself being great and I am sure its faulted to the software that Vizio made. The Vizio Smart Cast android app will connect to the sound bar but won't let me do anything else. I can't change inputs, settings, volume, etc. I also can't cast from Google Play Music, it will connect and then disconnect. I factory reset the sound bar and it started working again and then this morning the smart cast broke again. If you are buying just for the sound bar and don't have an interest in the smart casting feature, then its a great sound bar. If you are buying and plan on using the smart cast, I suggest looking elsewhere.

This is a very nice soundbar for its price. I think it would take a soundbar triple the price to beat out this one.

I really like Vizio products for the quality for their price. They are not going to compete with Bose or some other high end sound bars, but they sound great and hold their own. You will not find a better performing soundbar for the price. The only downside is not having the ability to pass through a 4K hdr signal. Aside from that it has a full rich sound. You can add a wired sub if you like heavy bass. Definitely do yourself a favor and at least check it out.

This is a great sound bar for your television. It has great sound, especially when playing movies. I use mine for both movies and just for television. You can’t beat the price. Also, Best Buy is good about taking things back or fixing anything. Love Best Buy.

This is my first sound bar. I changed from an old 5.1 home theater in a box type system and got tired of all the cords. This sounds excellent, especially after pairing with a 12" powered subwoofer. Came with any connection you can need. No comment on remote etc because I used hdmi arc so volume is controlled with tv remote.

Sound bar makes the voices sound richer and even though we didn't get a woofer, we don't feel that we need it. Sound is much improved.

Easy set up and good clear sound, makes it easier to understand people
