I have a digital antenna (no converter box) direct to tv and have excellent 1080 HD picture.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need an analog convertor box for this TV. I use a powered antenna and all we had to do was have it search for the channels OTA and it works. Picture quality is good over the air with a good signal. A roof mount HD antenna might provide a better picture, but before you buy one I would try it with the digital antenna to see what signal you get.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The converter is built in. Most flat panel tv's have them built in these days. As for the type of antenna to use depends on your distance to the nearest station towers. Antennasdirect.com will assist you with that. The consensus is anything under 60 miles a decent indoor antenna will pick it up. Anything over 60 miles and you may have to look into installing a larger outer antenna. Make note that there are environmental factors that could affect you getting a signal such as mountains, tall buildings if you're in the city and even tall trees in your yard.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That doesn't work. All this does over wifi is allow you to use Netflix and other such services. You have to buy an HD antenna, which will allow you to get some HD channels.
