• If your cable service is like mine - yes, you can get digital channels that way, but there are many channels you can only get with the cable box. It depends upon how many/which channels you want. I have found that your basic stations can still be viewed in HD -its just that the channel numbers are all different - usually including a decimal - for example 51.1, 51.3, etc.

• Yes it can. I do not use it, you just run the cord into the back of the TV.

• Yes. I have my cable tv hooked up from the wall directly to the TV with a coaxial cable and it works great.
