I have programmed our Vizio TVs to work with Xfinity remotes with ease. Xfinity provides a simple process listed on their support website. It is likely your provider does the same.

Hi Fredal! Most remotes that come from digital programing providers such as Cable and Satellite are able to be programmed to turn VIZIO HDTV's and Home Theater Displays on or to turn them off. We have some codes available at https://support.vizio.com/s/article/Remote-Codes-Universal-Remote to help with this however your cable company may have additional codes and can assist you in programming the remote.
