• You have to program your existing remote to the TV...that was so easy it happened before I realized iit was done - on screen instructions even guessing info you might not have handy. Using your smartphone is pretty cool though. If I were I kid I would be outside and turn the TV off on my sister. :)

• We appreciate your interest. This model does not have a built tuner but we do provide an HDMI cable that can be used to connect most cable and satellite boxes to the home theater display. By doing so, this will provide the highest possible resolution and you would also still be able to use the cable remote to change channels. Thanks! -Randal
