120Hz effective refresh rate Says 120Hz effective refresh rate but the HDMI on the back only says 60 or 30? Doesn't make any sense.

The 60 and 30 refer to the standard frame rates; the 120hz refers to the refresh rate of the actual picture elements in the screen. While these are multiples of one another for a ragne of technical reasons, they are two very different things.

120Hz is the refresh rate, but 30 and 60 respectively referring to the notations on the back of the panel are for fps.. So depending on which HDMI input you use, it will display at 30fps or 60fps... Both are better than what you will find broadcasted in most situations...

Do not worry about this. Actually, use HDMI 1 through 4. You will use 5 when more content is available or you are gaming.

It depends on the resolution of the source. 4K content will typically take more processing power, thus have a lower refresh rate. But, normal 1080p content will take less processing power, and may have the 120Hz rate.
