Design, and the P is a year older and has 64 active dimming zones instead of 32 like the M. Reviews are stating that the upscaling ability of the M is better than the P though. The P is supposed to be a step up in terms of Vizio's product line but right now (June 2015) the P is a year behind so it's more or less even, but they may release an updated P series later this year.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The M series is the "middle" of Vizio's TV lineup. The E-Series is at the bottom with basic features and lower price points. The M-Series will take things to the next level by offering better backlights \ more light zones than the E-Series. Their 4K sets also start in the M-Series. The M-series also provides a QWERTY keypad on the backside of the remote control to make typing a lot easier when using the Smart TV apps (i.e. logging into Netflix, searching for titles, etc.) The P-Series is reserved for their top-tier products. They will have even more backlight zones than the M-Series. This is going to provide unparalleled contrast ratios. Your blacks will be blacker with next to no light bleeding. I'm sure they'll probably stuff other upgrades in them as well. Graphics processing engines, CPU's, etc. will all be one notch above the M-Series.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.M is new for 2015 where P was 2014 model. Both have local LED dimming but the M model has fewer zones. Most reviews I have read say get the P model if available at a cheaper price.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.M is just a newer model. Quality wise there isn't really that much of a difference. M has a better architecture though, so its not as huge a drain on power. it also is supposed to last longer and have better contrasts. I haven't really noticed a difference myself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you pay more for p then m
