• No the feet actually make it more stable, just make sure your stand is wide enough to accommodate the wide space between the sets of legs

• With the tv this size I recommend a wall mount.... That's what I did and it works great.

• I found the feet to be pretty sturdy. I don't have a cat, but the TV sits next to a hallway and I've already bumped into it once. It didn't rock or anything.

• They feet are heavy duty, I actually feel that it's more stable than a center platform.

• It seems more stable than my earlier TV which had a center stand. Feet are 51" wide and 11" deep. A safer option may be to use a TV table / stand to which it can be fixed / mounted.
