“When it says "steam humidifier," does that mean it boils the water and evaporates the hot vapor?”

• Steam refers to the gaseous phase of water which is formed when water boils while water vapor refers to the gas phase of water. The difference between steam and water vapor is that water vapor can be produced from the evaporation or boiling of liquid water or from the sublimation of ice while steam is only formed from boiling water.
