- Answer Hi - The VTech CS5119-2 does not have a built in answering machine. If you are subscribed to Voicemail, the telephone will not be able to broadcast messages while it is being recorded. You may want to check the model VTech CS5129, which does have a built in answering machine. Thank you, -VTech Support

- Answer Hi - Here's how you can delete an entry in your phonebook. Step 1: Scroll to the entry by pressing the arrow up button. Step 2: When the desired entry appears, press DELETE. The handset displays Delete entry? and the number. Step 3: Press SELECT to confirm. The handset displays Deleting....Then you hear a confirmation tone. Hope this helps!

QuestionI've been using the VTEC phone for couple of years, it worked perfectly. But recently, the screen caller ID is not working. When I have a call, usually it displays the caller id, 'I.e., Smith Jones, etc., but now it shows, 'UNKNOWN NAME', WHY?

- Answer Hi - The VTech CS5119-2 only shows the available information sent by your telephone service during an incoming call. The phone will show "Unknown Name" instead of the name or phone number if the caller's name is unavailable. Thank you, -VTech Support

QuestionHow do I turn off Line in use and back to Handset 1 & 2?

- Answer Kia - The VTECH CS5119-2 will display "LINE IN USE" when a different phone or extension phone (another handset from the same system) sharing the same line is in use. The phone will display this because the unit has sensed a change in the line voltage when a phone is turned on. If there is not another phone off hook when it displays this message, please contact our Consumer Sales and Service Center between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday at 1-800-595-9511. - Answer The iphone itstself itself doesn't have a voicemail system but your phone provider might gave you that service which usually is virtual, call your own number and go from there, or call your provider's customer support to find out.

- Answer Hi - You can install both VTech CS5129 and CS5119 on the same line as extension phones but they will not communicate with each other. If you would like to combine both systems, you need to deregister the handset from one of the base then re-register it to the telephone base that you would like to use.
