QuestionDoes this phone have multiple jacks? In addition to electrical, I also need to be able to plug in 2 phone line jacks.

- Answer Hi, The telephone base of the VTech DS6151 has 2 line ports labeled as L1/L2 and L2. You use both line ports if you have 2 lines coming out of separate jacks. For 2 lines from 1 jack, you just have to connect an RJ14 going to the L1/L2 port. QuestionDoes the phone have the ability for the answering machine to kick on when I am using the phone as it is not working on mine.

- Answer Yes , just tried it, and the answering machine did answer after the set amount of rings. However, it answered with the preset message and not our custom recorded message .Make sure you don;t have the message system to answer after 8 rings. That's a lot of rings. Ours is set to 4.

QuestionIf I dial out from the base station, and then pick up the headset, will it auto transfer the call from the base station to the portable headset? Conversely, if I dial out from the headset, and place into the base station, will it auto transfer?

- Answer JD - The corded headset connection is available on the cordless handsets on the VTech DS6151. If you want to use the corded headset connected to a cordless handset, you just need to press the line button where the active call is on the handset and vice versa. Thank you! - VTech Support

QuestionCan two of these phones be connected to the same number only in two different offices?

- Answer Dobie - You can connect two VTech DS6151 on the same line but they will work as a stand alone phones. They will not communicate with each other. You can turn off the answering system on one of the main bases so they will not interfere with each other. Only one answering system can be used at a time. We recommend that you get one DS6151 and 1 DS6101 accessory cordless handset for the other office. The main base can accommodate up to 12 cordless handsets. Thank you! - VTech Support

- Answer Muhammad - Yes, you can add up to 12 cordless handsets to the VTech DS6151 and the compatible accessory cordless handset is VTech DS6101. This unit requires 110-120 V AC power and the handsets only use a rechargeable Ni-MH battery. - Answer Hi - You can connect 3 VTech DS6151 on the same line but they will work as a stand alone phones. They will not communicate with each other. You can turn off the answering system on 2 of the main bases so they will not interfere with each other. Only one answering system can be used at a time. QuestionI have the base with the handset that came with it and a new separate handset . can I set the base and one handset to have just line 2 ring and the additional handset have just line 1 ring? they will be used by different people working from home

- Answer Jill - You can turn off the ringer volume on each line for the base and the cordless handsets of the VTech DS6151 but it will still show on the screen that there is an incoming call for both lines. Here's the procedure on how to turn off the ringer volume on the telephone base and each of the cordless handsets. On the cordless handset: 1. Press the MENU softkey when the handset is not in use. 2. Press ▼ to select RINGERS, then press the SELECT softkey. 3. Press the SELECT softkey to select Ringer volume. 4. Press ▼ to choose Line 1, Line 2 or Lines 1&2. Then press the SELECT softkey. 5. Press ▼ or ▲ to adjust the ringer volume or press the OFF softkey to turn off the ringer. A sample of each ringer volume plays as you scroll through the choices. 6. Press the SET softkey to confirm or press OFF to exit to the previous menu. On the telephone base: 1. Press the MENU softkey when the telephone base is not in use. 2. Press ▼/CID to select Ringers, then press the SELECT softkey. 3. Press the SELECT softkey to select Ringer volume. 4. Press ▼/CID to choose Line 1, Line 2 or Lines 1&2. Then press the SELECT softkey. 5. Press ▼/CID or ▲/DIR to adjust the volume. A sample of each ringer volume plays as you scroll through the choices. Press the OFF softkey to turn off the ringer and RINGER VOLUME Ringer muted shows on the screen. 6. Press the SET softkey to confirm or press CANCEL to exit to the previous menu. Hope this helps. - Answer GC - The VTech DS6151 has a Hold feature. You can place a call on hold on one line and answer a call on the other line on the same handset. You can also use one handset on one line and use another handset on the 2nd line. If one handset is already engage on a call on one line, the other system handsets will still ring for the incoming call on another line connected on the phone. Thank you! - VTech Support

QuestionI have a DS6151 VTECH I have two lines connect I was under the assumption that if one line was in use the incoming call would roll over to the other line can this be done on this phone system.
