Hi! Thank you for reaching out with your question. The state of California requires that any product that has any amount of potentially hazardous material be tagged with a Prop. 65 Warning if products are sold into the state of California. The manufacturer tests all products and have determined them safe for in home and personal use. Cadmium may be found in the protective coatings on metal parts to prevent rust. Lead can also be found in trace amounts in certain metal alloys like brass used in hardware. Thanks!
