• Hi Stephanie, This is a simple plug-in unit and has no heat control other than on/off. It has two switches on the face of the unit allowing you to control heat and flames separately, and can heat a room up to about 400 sq. feet. It's low maintenance and just needs to be dusted every so often and checked for frayed cords. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
