I haven’t experienced my Nest shutting down during these extremely hot days with the cover on it. My house gets the intense afternoon sun. I purchased the Nest doorbell and the cover in order to protect it. My Nest has always had the cover on it, so I can’t compare performance without it. As a side note, the cover looks impressive on the Nest. I would highly recommend it and the cost is minimal.
