comparing 2 WD drives what one would you recomend the WD Mainstream 1TB(Model: WDBH2D0010HNC-NRSN) or the WD BLUE 1TB (Model: WD10EZEX)

I would go with the WD10EZEX. That's what I use and I have no issues with it. If you are a computer gamer and you play games a lot on your computer I would recommend you to look into the WD1003FZEX. Basically the black edition is faster processing speed. Blue is for every day use and green is for the once in awhile use. I recommend staying black or blue color hard drives.

For all of my desktop internal hard drives I us western digtal Blacks or reds. longer warranty and service life. worth the extra cost.

If you just need a drive the blue drives are fine just make sure that you get the best rpm hdd you can for the money you have. 7200rpm is better than 5400rpm. Also pay attention to the speed 3gb/s vs 6gb/s. Black drives are way better than blue because blue have a 2-3 year warranty and black drives have a 5 year. Is a couple extra years of warranty for a little more money worth it to you.

WD Mainstream 1TB is working quite well for us. Do not know the price difference between the two, but ours is doing good.

I can't say anything about the mainstream, but the Blue is excellent. I use mine for gaming and have no problems whatsoever.

Both are the same. Just that one is OEM come with nothing and the other is retail that come with nice package with mounting screws and install guide.

Believe it or not, when I pulled this drive out of the package, to my surprise, it was a WD blue anyways. I think it's still a blue, they just named it mainstream for some reason. I was specifically looking for a WD blue, and said well....might as well pick this one up, since i couldn't find it on bestbuy's site.
