“Does this come Pre installed with windows 8.1, I need it to replace the drive that was in my Acer Aspire E5 521 but I'm unsure if it would be the right operating system as that Acer laptop was running Windows 8.1”

• This is a brand new hard drive. It does not come with any operating system on it.

• Operating systems do not have to be the same. You will have to install windows on the new drive anyway. It will be really easy to copy old drive on to new drive. If the old drive is broken then you will have to purchase windows 8.1 or 10 to install on the new drive. All your old information and Windows 8.1 is on the old drive. It does not transfer when you plug in the new drive
