The 1525 has been around for awhile. If your model supports a SATA drive then it is compatible. I put a SATA 250 GB drive like this in a Dell 1420 which is the 14" model of the Dell slightly earlier than the 1525.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Dell 1525 Inspiron is a 2008 laptop and this was built during the early stages of SSDs. Because of this, the motherboard does not naturally support using an SSD as a main hard drive. To get around this, you will have to re-format the SSD into a Master Boot Record disc and then it will work. Space-wise and power management-wise, it will fit into the laptop and it will have enough juice to power the SSD. In short, this SSD is compatible but it will require technical knowledge to install.
